Uses Of Eye Drops

Leave a message

Eye drops are liquid medications used to treat or relieve eye diseases. They can be applied directly to the eyes and are commonly used for short-term treatment of dry eye, visual fatigue, and other conditions. Their main ingredients are artificial tears, anti-inflammatory or anti-allergic drugs, etc. The appropriate type should be selected according to the doctor's prescription.

Eye drops should be used according to the following guidelines: 1-2 drops per application is recommended, not exceeding 4 times daily; clean hands before application and avoid contact between the bottle tip and the eye; multiple eye drops should be used at 5-10 minute intervals. Once opened, it is recommended to use within 4 weeks to prevent microbial contamination. Some eye drops contain hormones or specific ingredients (such as atropine and timolol), and improper use may cause serious complications such as glaucoma and arrhythmia. Long-term abuse of eye drops containing preservatives may damage the cornea and worsen dry eye symptoms. Store in a cool place and avoid mixing with other topical medications. Children, pregnant women, and people with allergies should strictly follow their doctor's instructions, and should discontinue use when wearing contact lenses.
